Respected Nigerian Doctor Accused of Stealing $350,000....

A well respected Nigerian-born Doctor and head of a Queens, New York nonprofit organization has surrendered to authorities on charges she swindled taxpayers out of nearly $400,000. Dr. Dorothy Ogundu, 58 allegedly used his non profit organization to pilfer $373,000 worth of city, state and federal funds. 

She was accused of using the money meant for the poor for various personal expenses, including buying cars and shipping them back to Nigeria. She  has been charged with multiple counts of grand larceny, forgery and falsifying business records., facing up to 15 years in prison if convicted. All attempts to speak to her office were rebuffed. She was said to have turned herself in to the authorities but denied the charges. I tried to call but as soon as I introduced who I was and why I was calling, the phone went dead.
