409 Nigerians Are In Jail In South Africa.

There is a growing tension between South Africans and Nigerians living in that country and as usual, Nigerian government is doing nothing about it. Reports coming from South Africa and Nigeria said that, there over 409 Nigerians were currently serving jail terms and many of them are innocent. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the House Committee on Diaspora disclosed the numbers and described the increasing number of Nigerians in foreign prisons as “ridiculously embarrassing.”

We've heard government officials said this before and nothing tangible came out of such statement except if one of the inmates is “their own”. We just hope that someone, somewhere will take some sort of action to help the innocents.
