Roger Jean-Claude
Mbede is a Cameroonian, jailed for expressing love to another man via text message. Cameroon, just like Nigeria has strictest anti-gay laws, 28 people have been charged under statute
against homosexual acts.
Roger Jean-Claude Mbede, was declared a prisoner of
conscience by Amnesty International, but died on Friday after his family removed
him from the hospital where he had been seeking treatment for a hernia, lawyer
Alice Nkom said. 'His family said he was a curse for them and that we should
let him die,' she said.
