Believe it or not, 2014 is almost upon us, in few hours, different parts of the world will usher in the new year at different times. Where will you be, and what are your plans for tonight as a way to usher in the New Year?.

Wherever you are, whatever you do, be safe, be kind to one another. As for me, I am going to church, not only to usher in the year but  more importantly to thank God for the blessings of 2013. You Are Guilty Of Your Allegations – Pastor Tunde Bakare Charged Obasanjo.

Pastor Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly - Lagos, who recently returned a cow “gift” sent to him from the presidency, has also charged former President Olusegun Obasanjo - as guilty of the allegations he levelled against President Goodluck Jonathan in his infamous letter to the the current President.

While giving a sermon at his church in Lagos, Pastor Bakare stated that, former President’s letter to Jonathan painted a picture of Obasanjo himself when he was the president of Nigeria. In the said letter, Obasanjo called Jonathan’s attention to critical issues affecting the nation while Jonathan responded weeks later with a justifications of his policies.

His words

“Was it not the same Obasanjo that imposed (the late Umaru) Yar’Adua and Jonathan on the PDP and ensure that they emerged winners in the Presidential election? How can the same person be accusing Jonathan of wrongdoing? Besides, Obasanjo’s letter is just about himself; that is, he has written a letter that tells his own story.”

I knew that by sending him that "gift", they have woken a sleeping lion, and he is ready to roar again. 

Terror in Russia - 15 Dead In Train Terrorist Attack

As a reminder of the threat facing Russia from rebel fighters in Chechnya, suicide bomber struck a busy railway station in the southern Russian city of Volgograd, killing at least 15 people and wounding many more - officials said.

With second attack in two month ahead of the upcoming winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, many people are worried about safety of athletes and visitors alike. No group claimed responsibility for the bombing in Volgograd, but it came months after Chechen rebel leader Doku Umarov called for new attacks against civilian targets in Russia, including the Sochi Winter Games. 

Volgograd is 900 kilometers south of Moscow, Russian capital and about 650 kilometers to Sochi, venue of the upcoming Winter Olympics. Watch the chilling video after the cut.

OK, I have not been surprised in the past with some of these celebrities announcing their sexual orientation but somehow this one caught me unawares - She is one of  "Good Morning America" anchors - Robin Roberts, she came out Sunday in a post thanking her "long time girlfriend." 

She disclosed her relationship in a Facebook post in which she reflected on the past year, below is her own word.. 

"At this moment I am at peace and filled with joy and gratitude," Roberts wrote. "I am grateful to God, my doctors and nurses for my restored good health. I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life. I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together."

We knew that something was wrong when she announced recently that she was canceling the Australian and Asian leg of her tour to take some time for herself, that rumor has been confirmed by another new report – she is dealing with the fact she's suffering from Lupus.

She was reportedly diagnosed with the autoimmune disease a couple of years ago, and has suffered multiple "flares" recently, resulting in extreme fatigue, headaches and joint pain which will explain why all the cancellation. Singer Tony Braxton  is also suffering from Lupus and considered retiring from music at some point. This is wishing her the best.

Customer Service - What's Your Experience?

I was not planning to write about this topic today but something happened at a local branch of a major furniture company (name withheld). Providing the right customer service should be paramount with any business and to me, no customer should be treated with levity - after all, if you are in business, you need people to make money.

I understand that we live in a society, where people complains about quality of customer services or lack thereof, I have witnessed some valid complains in the past as far as quality customer services are concerned, and there has been some not so valid complains - but I ask you, what is your experience when it comes to customer service or lack of it at any point in time. Let's talk about it. 

Six-Year-Old Girl Robs Saudi Arabian Jewellery Store.

You will think that this can only happen in "sinful" western world and not in Saudi Arabia, but think again. A six-year-old girl robbed a jewellery shop in Saudi Arabia while her mother and an accomplice distracted the sales assistant.

CCTV footage shows the girl between the age of 5-6 entered the store wearing a colourful backpack and twice sneaked under the counter into the section where the jewellery is stored.

After a two attempts, she reappears carrying what looks to be a bundle of money which reportedly contained more than 500,000 Saudi Riyal ($148,141,00). She put the money in the bad of the ladies in purdah in an apparent move that she was aware of what the girl was doing. See the Video after the cut.

"My Biggest Regret Is Never Having Children," Patti Stanger, 52.

I have often wondered what most people, celebrities especially- that have chosen career over family think in the private of their home, when no one else is around about their decision.  Not too long ago, I watched Vivica A. Fox on Bethany show cried about her regret not to have kids, and the fact that it was “too late” for her - I know that adoptions is an option for many, but if you can have kids on you own with no medical condition, and you chose career instead, there has to be some regrets - my opinion.

This revelation again by another high profile “career” woman in a way confirm what I have always thought the must be going true. Patti Stanger is 52 years old, successful as a matchmaker, but expressed heartache over never having children. Although, she has made a career out of playing cupid for high-rollers, says she wasn't 'lucky' enough to meet the right guy to start a family with at the right time.

While I have no right to judge anyone else's decision to  or not to have kids, I just feel that there has to be a balance between career and family, again my opinion.

Chinese Man Has 17.5 KG Tumour Cut Off His Face - But It's STILL Growing

A Chinese man underwent several operations to remove a giant tumor from his face weighing about 17.5kg. Huang Chuncai is 36, and has suffered with these shocking facial tumors since he was a child. Although doctors are hopeful they can all be removed, but are worry that it may grow again. H he had similar operations in the past but the tumor grew rapidly on the left side over the last six years.

He was found on a running trail in Hermosa Beach, California, Pollack is best known for teaming up with Benny Medina to form the production company Medina/Pollack Entertainment, which later became Handprint Entertainment.

Evil Of Gun: Father Shot Stepdaughter Dead.

One of the reasons I am not in favor of guns is the issue of mistaken identity - imagine this news from Colorado Spring. A father fatally shot and killed his 14-year-old step daughter after being tragically mistaken for an intruder. 

Kiana O’Neil was shot in the stomach and chest after her yet to be identified stepfather spotted her crawling through a basement window into the Ascendant Drive, apparently returning home from a late night event. The stepfather is yet to be arrested as Colorado laws allows homeowners to protect themselves against home intruders.

South African President Has Caught "Dictatorship Bug"

I have never been to South Africa but, anyone that has been to the country seems to agree that, things are working well at least in most cities - which by the way is a great relieve when compared to other African countries. However, I am beginning to worry about their president - Jacob Zuma. He was reported to have warned the African public broadcaster not to report on calls for him to step down as president. 

A spokesman from South Africa Right2Know group said the interference 'makes a mockery of the principle of freedom of expression'. - Remember that, earlier this month, there was an attempt to muzzled the press when they showed the booing of President Zuma at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service, the crowd booed his face every time it showed up on a big screen at the service. There has been times when newspapers houses were threatened with arrest, and imprisonment if they published pictures of his private mansion.

He is beginning to develop the same syndrome that many of African leaders has - "The fear of free press, and the beginning of dictatorship."

Late night talk show host, Arsenio Hall has another reason to celebrate this holiday season. He survived unharmed after he lost control of his brand new Porsche, and drove off a Los Angeles road. The 57 years old (believe it or not, he is 57) drove onto a dirt shoulder in West Hills around 7:15 p.m in the San Fernando Valley. No traces of alcohol were found in his blood and no arrest were made. Thank God for his life.

This news coming from Ilorin, Kwara State in Nigeria is very disturbing. Seven officials  of the Nigerian Immigration Services allegedly  beat up and tore the clothes of a reporter, Miss Damilola Biodun-Balogun, and a cameraman,  Mr. Vincent Omolere, of the Nigerian Television Authority Ilorin.

These so called celebrities will not learn to watch what they say. Less than a week after Justine Sacco - Communications Director for a major company tweeted a very insensitive comment stating that 'Going to Africa. Hope I don't get AIDS. Just Kidding. I'm White!' and the firestorm created by her stupidity is yet to die down, another celebrity - Steve Martin tweeted, when asked by a Twitter follower, 'Is this how you spell lasonia?,' his response was 'It depends. Are you in an African-American neighborhood or at an Italian restaurant?' - Really Steve? He later apologized after being labeled a racist. What do you think about comment like these, are you offended or do you find them funny?

This is one for the ages, Mary Helen Bowers is 33-year-old whose Ballet Beautiful program is a favorite to many of Victoria's Secrets models. Readers, believe it or not, it is less than five days before Christmas, and I was reflecting on the past 11 plus months and how quick the year went by. I know this is probably late but it is still funny, at least to me. A billboard erected in honor of Nelson Mandela in India mistakenly used a photo of actor Morgan Freeman instead. The southern city of Coimbatore apparently left its commissioner red-faced — and vowing to immediately have it fixed. "We will replace it with the correct picture of Mandela," the cloth merchant told AFP. Really? 

Italian Government Condemned For 'Appalling' Migrant Video Showing Refugees Stripping Naked, Being Hosed Down.

Italian government is facing widespread criticism from home and abroad with possibility of legal action after a shocking video showing abusive treatment of migrants.  The video was reportedly filmed on a mobile phone at a holding center on the island of Lampedusa.

"The Italian government vowed to investigate the treatment of migrants at its refugee centers Tuesday, as Italian officials publicly denounced the conditions depicted in the video. Lampedusa Mayor Giusi Nicolini related the images to Nazi-era concentration camps, while Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta vowed to punish anyone responsible, according to the Agence France-Presse."

Mailman Safely Catches Infant Twins From Burning Building In Bronx, NY

Twin brothers Israel and Ishmeal Codner, each 11 months old, were caught by Jermaine Shirley as the fire spread through their parents block in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx, the New York.

Reports indicated that the US Postal worker - Shirley, was on his way to work when he smelled smoke in the building and climbed atop of a building extension nearly two stories below, and yelled to the father of the twins to drop the babies. Asked what he was thinking at that point, Shirley replied, "Nothing, I was just ready to catch." Both parents also made it out alive.

She has reportedly signed a new contract with ABC worth up to $14 million a year.

She battle with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) but chose to share her story with GMA audience, after several chemotherapy and successful transplant, Robin finally resumed her five-day-a-week schedule this past September. Wishing her the very best.

PETA Giving Out Fur Coats To Homeless Women

At first, when I heard about this story, I thought it was a PR gimmick but then a reader forwarded this picture to me as a proof.  PETA - "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" (this is the real meaning by the way, and not "People Enjoying Tasty Animal") as some of you readers are suggesting - donated about 100 fur coats to Detroit’s homeless. 

I know this is a good gesture, but since PETA is against people wearing fur coat, and have been know to throw paint at people especially celebrities in the past - what are they going to do now?. I guess the freezing temperature in Motor city will justify this act of kindness as you can tell from the smile on the lady in pictures' face.

Killer, Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale Found Guilty of Lee Rigby Murder.

The two accused individuals of murdering Lee Rigby were found guilty in just 90 minutes today for carrying out a crime that appalled the world. Fusilier Rigby was 'mutilated, almost decapitated and murdered' by Michael Adebowale, 22, and Michael Adebolajo, 28, who ambushed him outside military barracks in Woolwich, South East London. 

Lee Rigby's bereft family have been forced to relieve his killing and watch footage of the soldier being run down at 40mph and hacked to death because the pair refused to accept they were murderers. Adebolajo instead claimed their defence was they were 'soldiers of Allah' at 'war' with Britain over its foreign policy. Full report at Daily Mirror

Western Countries Evacuating Citizens From South Sudan Amid Renewed Violence.

According to new reports, many western countries are evacuating their diplomats and citizens from the troubles African Country of South Sudan amid fierce fighting. US is leading the pack with 120 of its diplomats, and other citizens evacuated.

They were flew to neighboring Kenya while a small U.S. military force remains on the ground in Juba, the capital city to augment embassy security. Meanwhile, nothing is been done to secure the safety of others in the country as violence erupted after an alleged coup attempt on Sunday.

56 Year Old Grandmother From Stone Mountain, Georgia Revealed As One Of Two Winners Sharing $648 MILLION Jackpot.

Ira Curry, a grandmother from Stone Mountain near Atlanta, Georgia who bought a last-minute lottery ticket has been revealed as one of the two winners of the $648 million Mega Millions jackpot. Mrs Curry, work for an insurance firm, bought one of the two winning tickets - a last-minute decision using a combination of her family member's birthdays and what she called her family's lucky number - 7. 

She realized she could be the winner while driving to work and heard on the radio that a person in Georgia had won. She has selected a single-payment option, and will receive her portion of the winning, worth about $120 million after federal and state taxes. The other winner from California has not step forward yet.

"I am In Love" - Nigerian Facing Deportation in the UK Maintains.

Although, he has been accused of taking part in a fake marriage in order to stay permanently in the UK, Duke Okorie said love was the reason behind him marrying a Portuguese woman called Carla Ramos at a Nottingham church, and not as a way to overcome UK immigration laws.

He is one of the four people on trial at Nottingham Crown Court who denied conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration between January 1, 2008, and August 8, 2010. Prosecutors say his marriage was one of a number between Nigerian and Portuguese nationals which took place at churches and register offices in Nottingham, before applications were then made to the Home Office for UK residency.

He maintain that, he only learned his wife was not who she said she was after their application for UK residency was refused in October 2009, and has not seen her since. According to Notthinghampost Bryan Henesey – Okorie was quoted that "She wasn't the person that she claimed to be. We were quarreling; she was angry with me and I was angry as well. She left. I don't know where she went."

Protest in India Over Female Diplomat's Arrest in New York.

There were protest in some parts of India due to the arrest, and alleged strip search of an Indian diplomat in New York City while India's national security adviser called the woman's treatment "despicable and barbaric." Devyani Khobragade, who is also India's deputy consul general in New York, is accused of submitting falsified documents in order to obtain a work visa for her housekeeper. 

Indian officials said she was arrested and handcuffed Thursday as she dropped off her daughter at school, and was kept in a cell with drug addicts before posting $250,000 bail. Part of the reasons for the protest however is due her allege “strip- searched” and is considered in India as “the most offensive and troubling part of the arrest.” 

Chris Brown's Probation Revoked But Escaped Jail Term

In what appeared to be yet another break from jail, Chris Brown’s probation was revoked but was order to continue his rehab instead of a jail term. The Judge, James Brandlin cited  Chris Brown’s progress in anger management rehab.  He then yanked the probation after reviewing a report on Brown’s Oct. 27 arrest for allegedly punching a man in the face outside a hotel near the White House, Washington DC.

Sam McNair is a 17 year old senior at Gwinnett County High School, Georgia, one of the schools top football and lacrosse player. He is now suspended for a year and may not graduate on time all because of a hug.

According to the New York Daily News, McNair walked up to his teacher, her back turned to him, and gave her a hug, putting his arm around her shoulders and nestling his head into her neck. A school hearing officer says his actions violate the Gwinnett County Public Schools’ sexual harassment policy - 

School officials say McNair did more than just hug the teacher. They claim that when he put his head on the back of her neck, he kissed her. On the tape, you can see the teacher shove him away with her forearm. McNair says he never kissed the teacher and he doesn’t believe his actions warrant this type of punishment. McNair says, “Something so innocent can be perceived as something totally opposite.” It get interesting  and the video will help narrate the rest of the story  and judge for yourself after the cut.

Ghanaian Man Jailed For Life For Stabbing Wife to Death.

Ghanaian Minta, Adiddo, 38, of Rigby Place, London has been sentenced to at least 17 years in prison after he repeatedly stabbed his 22-year-old wife - Akua Agyeman in the presence of their 5 year old daughter and then brutally running her over with a car as witnesses watched in horror.

"During the trial at the Old Bailey, the jury heard Adiddo launched his vicious attack on wife Akua Agyeman because he believed she was having an affair with a neighbour, who denied the allegation.

The court heard how on November 5 last year, Adiddo stabbed Akua in their bedroom with a large kitchen knife before chasing her out on to the road as she attempted to flee. He then continued his attack on the street before getting in his car and driving over his wife, leaving witnesses tending to Akua with just moments to get out of the way." Adiddo was arrested later when police officers spotted him in the vehicle still wearing his blood-stained shirt. Akua died from her injuries in hospital two months later, on January 2 2013

Breaking News - Bomb Scare at Harvard University.!!

There was an evacuation of student and staff at Harvard University's four buildings at the heart of its centuries-old campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts today. After warning students of unconfirmed reports that explosives had been planted at the institution - report coming from Reuters/Yahoo Buildings affected are the Science Center, Thayer, Sever and Emerson Halls. This is a precautionary measure according to the school authority; students were scheduled to take final exams this week. The school was founded in 1636, has about 21,000 students.

I Dumped Khloe, Not the other way around - Claimed Lamar Odom.

Lamar Odom is claiming that he is the one who ended his marriage to Khloe Kardashian and not the other way around, according to TMZ. He allegedly blamed Kardashian for their split telling friend that friends "I can't be f-kin' with Khloe. She brings out the bad side of me." – Really? Khloe filed divorce papers to end their marriage on this past week, citing irreconcilable differences.
